MAD DAISY X KSENIASERAYA

MAD DAISY x KSENIASERAYA collection is an attempt to explore the uniqueness of Russian ‘dacha’ street style, when no more wanted garments from different generations of one family are worn while visiting a cottage house. Main inspiration for the collection comes from ‘Dacha’ pictures from USSR 80’s showing people wearing these easy and spontaneous looks mixed with hand-recycled knit sweaters by grandmothers, thus representing incredible combinations, impossible to wear in city life. The idea of a ‘Telogreyka’ (a mix of a coat and a jacket with stitched in insulation) came from the provincial looks into the MAD DAISY collection. Jaccard images in the knits came from Roman Manikhin illustrations. One more inspiration for the collection comes from the 80’s street style from across the ocean is manifested in a referral to Jean-Michel Basquiat graphic works.
